Paul is focused not only on the day to day operations at VEC but also on assuring that all VEC customers get the support they need for project success. He works side-by-side with customers to lead them through site evaluations and design recommendations, as well as with the VEC team to support site surveys.
Paul’s specialty is in design consulting for new and existing facility construction. He uses advanced modeling and analytics to guide the advice VEC provides its customers and to develop remediation strategies that will ensure customer instruments meet operational requirements. Paul is also the tireless ambassador for Quantridge platform application and integration.
Paul has both a mechanical engineering degree and an MBA. He has over five years of consulting experience at VEC and at McKinsey & Company, during which time he focused on large project delivery and meeting both engineering and business requirements. As further evidence that he is not afraid to take on a challenge or tackle a hard problem, Paul spent ten years in the United States Army, with eight of those years in Special Operations.
Joel is our specialist in site surveys and remediation for transmission electron microscope (TEM) installations. As the Senior Technical Support Engineer at FEI Company, specializing in TEM service, Joel was part of the team that launched the Titan corrected S/TEM. He has a great deal of experience with the unique site requirements for TEM.
Prior to his 13+ years with FEI, Joel held various field service positions with Carl Zeiss X-ray Microscopy, Lam Research, and Thermo Fisher Scientific. Joel earned his BSc degree from the University of Houston and his MBA from Texas A&M University-Commerce. He also spent nine years with the United States Navy.
Danielle keeps VEC running smoothly and makes certain that the administrative side of customer support proceeds accurately, promptly and professionally. Danielle handles office management, finance and accounting, vendor set-up, purchase orders, and notary services as required.
Danielle worked with the original Vibration Engineering Consultants and was asked to stay on after the company changed hands. Her practical experience and finance education extend back to her first job managing the cash office of a major drug store chain when she was only 16 years old. In college, she focused on finance coursework to gain the background needed to create her own consulting company. She has supported accounting, office operations, and human resources for numerous small businesses over the past 20+ years.
Yan is the brains behind the technical architecture and design of Quantridge. With a background in computer science, financial services, and machine learning, Yan has the intellectual horsepower and relevant experience to create a cutting-edge product that provides complex insights in an easy to digest form.
Beginning his career at Santander at the forefront of high-speed trading and machine learning in global finance, Yan spent six years at several technology startups including GetYFi and Intuitive Design Theory before co-founding Quantridge in 2017. Yan can be found either in the field learning more about customer requirements or engineering the next version of the Quantridge platform in our Burlingame office. Yan earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in computer sciences from Rutgers University.
Scott is one of our field technicians, supporting our Spicer magnetic field cancelling system installations at customer sites. Scott also is integral behind the scenes, working on development projects that allow VEC to introduce new solutions and capabilities to benefit our clients.
Scott understands the importance of trust in the client-vendor relationship. As the director of training for a company that designs and builds challenge courses, Scott has coached on effective communication, leadership, and teamwork. Scott also taught previously at the University level. He brings his educator values to his customer interactions, assuring that when he leaves a site, everyone is clear on how equipment functions and what would constitute a problem.
Craig has been a part of VEC since 1997, providing consulting, site surveys, problem-solving, and guidance to our diverse range of clients. He is a highly regarded expert for both resolving imaging issues in electron microscopes, and for troubleshooting Spicer Consulting Magnetic Field Cancellation system issues. Craig is our most experienced team member when it comes to remediation under unusually challenging conditions.
Craig repaired electron microscopes for Philips Electron Optics and Hitachi before joining VEC, so he has a deep understanding of the sources of interference that can compromise instrument performance. Craig is also retired from the United States Navy.
